About Me

I am a rabbi and one of the contributors to GrowthVillage.com's Spiritual Blog. I've been teaching on the net for many years many of my classes in Jewish studies can be found at TeachItToMe.com

I have always taken to heart the idea that there is no monopoly on heaven and in serving God. The Talmud (Sanhedrin 105a) writes: "Righteous people of all nations have a share in the world to come". I believe that being spiritual starts with the seven universal commandments given to Noah by God for all mankind: belief in God, not to blaspheme, not to murder, not to steal, not to commit sexually immoral acts, to set up righteous and honest courts, and not to eat parts off a living animal.

Later at Mount Sinai, God gave the Jews a set of 613 commandments to further define their spiritual path and charge them to become an example by their observance of the laws to others.
